Government Degree Science and Commerce College for Women, Federal B Area block 16 ,was established in August 1990 it was inaugurated by the Honorable Minister of Education Mr. M.A Jalil on 23rd may 1991. A distinguished feature of the institution is that it is the only female Science and Commerce College situated in the heart of the city. With the beginning of the fourth academic year B.com classes have also started, an achievement in the short history of the college. The college was a long felt need of the students of this area. The location of the college is ideal, it is situated in the center of Federal B Area. a good meeting point between north Karachi and gulshan Iqbal. The college has two faculties Science and Commerce at intermediate level.
